The In Touch system is a requirement for all events and meetings that are held away from the normal meeting place. It is sometimes referred to by the old name : Home Contact.
If parents need to get information to the party during the event, they should ring the In Touch Contact who will be in touch with the leaders. The In Touch contact must be constantly available for the duration of the event.
The idea is for there to be a single point of contact for parents, someone who has mobile numbers for all adults on the event, plus contact details for the location of the event, and local services.
In the unlikely event of an incident, it is likely to be the In Touch contact that gets in touch with parents. This allows the adults on the event to focus on the young people in their care.
